Description
This is a vintage Singer Featherweight model 221-1, the serial number (AL030126) dates it to 1952.
It includes the footswitch, box, manual and some accessories as shown. I replaced the AC cord on the footswitch with the modern reproduction version and applied Sew-Retro grease (included) to the machine and motor as demonstrated in Youtube videos.
Condition details:
- footswitch cord has been replaced
- a piece of Bakelite where the cord enters the footswitch broke off (see pics)
- cord soldered to one footswitch terminal because original screw was missing (see pics)
- the Bakelite around where the AC plug is inserted into the machine is cracked / missing pieces around the edges but doesn’t affect functionality (see pics)
- manual has a bit of wear
- one attachment has some surface rust (see pics)
- case has marks as shown
- replacement belt included is in unknown condition (feels like it may be too dry)
Otherwise, the machine is in good/average condition with average signs of wear.
The motor, footswitch and light are working. The machine has not been tested beyond this.
