Antique/Vintage Handmade Carved Indian Rajasthani Dowry Chest Wood Box Folk Art

Description

This is an antique or vintage Indian Rajasthani dowry chest which is handmade out of wood and steel. It measures 15″ long, 10.5″ high, 8.5″ wide and weighs 6.2 lb.

The box is handmade and hand carved with intricate geometric patterns. It is held together with steel straps and brass nails.

Condition:

The top back panel has fading to the color of the wood as shown. Also on the top back is a damaged area as shown in the last two photos.

The front left foot has a piece of cork on the bottom to level it out.

The box has a smell of incense or potpourri type fragrance to it.
