Antique Jacobs Bros No. 3 scale.

One side of base says:

“Appv’d Type 17

N.Y.C. Serial 45″

I’m not sure about the 45 part, the characters are difficult for me to see.

Obverse side of the base says “Jacobs Bros New York”.

On one side on the top of the foot it says “No.” and the other side “3”.

I do not see any other markings.

It measures approximately 12″ long, 6″ wide, 7.75″ tall at the largest dimensions.

Weight is 7.5 pounds.

Condition:

Scale has surface rust on the pieces at the top in the center.

Paint is flaking from the entire scale.

It moves when you press the side opposite of the flat round tray but is otherwise untested.

It is missing at least one tray and possibly more parts, only what’s shown is included (scale itself only).

There are no cracks in the cast iron.
