Description
This is a vintage or antique box, I estimate it to be from around 1920s through 1940s, because of its cardboard bottom and printed fabric, but you be the judge.
The box is from House of Kuppenheimer, specifically, the Department of Special Orders.
It appears to be largely constructed of pine wood with a cardboard bottom, and bound in fabric similar to a hardbound book of the era. The fabric features the screen printed logo on the top and the text on the front side of the box.
The box is held closed with two latches.
Condition wise, the box is very distressed and there is much damage to the fabric, including staining, discoloration, rips, separations, wrinkling as well as wear and fading to the print.
On the bottom of the box, where the fabric holds the cardboard panel on, one edge has separated, and two of the other edges are beginning to separate, I would say about halfway.
The box measures 15.5 in wide, 11.5 in deep, 7 in tall and weighs approximately 3 lb 3 oz.
